This is the most widespread solution because it combines good thermal insulation (U= 1.0 W/m2K) with a large illuminating surface.
Unlike bases with conical walls, PVC 16/00 bases have vertical walls. This means that the transom (dome - pyramid) has the same (equal) dimension as the building opening.
For example, in a building opening of 100X100cm, if a base with conical walls is used (e.g. 16/20) the useful lighting surface will be 80X80cm (0.64m2). However, if a base with vertical walls (16/00) is used then the useful lighting surface will be 100X100cm (1.00m2) i.e. it will provide 56% more light.

It is produced from PVC with a cellular cross-section (with air chambers) to ensure low weight, high strength and good thermal insulation.
It has a 12.5cm flange around the perimeter for screwing.
