Fire-resistant glass blocks are commonly used as partitions in areas of mass assembly, in stairwells or other escape routes, or in walls adjacent to other buildings.
Special fire-resistant glass floor bricks are also available.
They are divided into 2 categories:
1. Me dfire resistance E (formerly German specifications G)
E= Fire integrity of a structural element is its ability to prevent the passage of flame and hot exhaust gases to its unexposed side, in the event of a fire attack from the other side. The most common category is E60:

2. With fire resistance index EI (formerly German specification F according to DIN 4102-3)
Apart from E, these glass bricks are also I where I= Fire resistance of a structural element, i.e. its ability not to collapse or exceed deformation limits when exposed to the effect of fire when loaded with a predetermined load.
EI15, EI30, EI60, EI90, EI120 glass bricks are available:
Attention: for a wall to be fireproof in practice, it is not enough for the glass bricks to be fireproof, but it must also be built with specific specifications and materials.
